Festivals

Electric Zoo Music Festival

Electric Zoo Festival is one of New York City’s largest music festivals which features the top names in electronic music, bringing a wide variety of acts from around the world and across the spectrum of electronic music’s various sub-genres. Usually occurs at the end of August and beginning of September.

Panorama Music Festival

The Panorama Music festival is a multi-day festival held on Randall’s Island in New York City. It usually happens around the end of the month of July (27-29).

Governors Ball

Governors Ball is a three day music festival that takes place on Randall’s Island on June 1-3. There are many places to take pictures and the line-up for this festival is always fire. However, the food is very expensive so be prepared. Also try and get the tickets early because it is a very popular festival and sometimes run out of three, or day passes.

Meadow Music and Art Festival

The Meadow Music Festival is an annual festival held in Citi Field in Queens. It’s also a three day event with multiple stages. Occurs in September (15-17).

Elements Music and Arts Festival

The Elements Music and Arts festival is a one day event that has multiple stages, art exhibits and showcases new types of technology as well. The prices range from $59-$169, depending on whether you want VIP passes or not. Look on their website for more information and for the line-up.

Summer Jam (Hot 97)

Summer Jam is the annual hip-hop fest held in East Rutherford, New Jersey sponsored by the radio station Hot 97FM. The festival for 2018 is on June 10.

Runs

Color Run

The Color Run is an a event that is held in different locations in the city and there are many different dates that are available during the year. It’s a very fun, five kilometer run in which you are showered with colorful powder from beginning to end. There are different packages that you can choose from on their website. Most of the packages include a color run t-shirt, headbands, powder and a medal. The prices range from $30-$55.

City Challenge Obstacle Race

The City Challenge Race is located on Randall's Island Park. This race has many thrilling and exciting obstacles such as rope climbs, devil's playground, urban wall traverse, caravan parkour, heavy bag gautlet, Military tires, Pyramid climb, The rig, Police barricades, Cinder balance beam,Sand bag sprints and many more. I suggest training a bit for this race and drinking a lot water and be ready to get dirty and sweaty. If you are a sporty and athletic person this is the perfect activity for you. The prices depend on how many people are going and whether you are an adult or child ($60-$90).

Rugged Maniac

Rugged Maniac is an annual obstacle course race, otherwise known as a mud run. In addition to being a race there are also pie eating contests, volleyball tournaments and mechanical bull rides. The race is very intensive but very fun, it includes: trampolines, huge water slides, climbing up massive nets, jumping over fire and much more. The price for this events ranges from $89-$110. I would also suggest training a bit for this event.

Brandy Melville

61 5th Ave. A classic new york store, mostly an online brand, see the basic t’s and jeans in real life. Muted colors, trendy, basics.

Unique Boutique

487 Columbus Ave, A thrift store for more than just clothes. Although they sell the best vintage items, they also have furniture, shoes, music, books, and jewelry.

American Eagle

599 Broadway, 19 Union Square W. A store for basic and comfortable clothes. American Eagle has a beaching summer vibe in both the men and women clothes. They sell clothes, sunglasses, and shoes.

Flying Tiger

920 Broadway. A store for anything for the lowest price. Ever wanna shop for a iphone case and get school supplies and by room decor? Go to Flying tiger. Balling on a serious budget! (low quality)

Free People

79th 5th Ave. Pretty pricey, but very cute. Vintage feel clothes, with a floral aesthetic. Definition of charm.

Ice Skating

Rockefeller Center

The Rockefeller Center is located on 5th ave between 49th and 50th streets. It's most popular during the winter season and Chirstmas, obviously, and they say they open from October till around May. They are a bit pricey especially around Christmas time, the price ranges from $25 to $35 and the skate rentals are $12. Also their line is known to get very long, somedays it can be an hour wait,so be mindful of that before going. Despite the long line it's a beautiful place to skate with friends or family and have a great time.

LeFrak Center

The LeFrak center is located inside Lakeside Prospect Park in Brooklyn. Their address is 171 East Dr. Brooklyn,NY. They are opened Monday through Sunday but their times may change, so make sure to check if they are open before going. During the summer you can roller skate and during the cooler day you can ice skate. They have really good prices $6-$9 for adults and children during the weekends and the skate rentals are $6. In addition, they have a snack bar and a cafe that you can go to after skating.

Chelsea Piers

Chelsea Piers is an indoor, year long ice skating rink that is open to anyone. It is $12 for a person and $6 to rent skates. In addition to general ice skating, you can also pay for private figure skating lessons and you can also have parties there. Look on there website before going because they only have certain days for general ice skating.

Riverbank State Park

Riverbank State Park is a gret place to go if you want to do activities. It has ice skating, tennis, gym, pool, playground, picnic tables, and recreation programs. You can also roller skate during the summer. The prices are also really low for all of the activities which is great.

Walks

5th ave

5th ave is a major street in Manhattan in New York City. It runs from West 143rd Street in Harlem to Washington Square Park in Greenwich Village. It is a very popular, expensive, and elegant street. There are many stores and museums that you can go visit.

Brooklyn Bridge

The Brooklyn Bridge walkway begins at the intersection of Tillary Street and Boerum Place. You can also go to the underpass on Washington Street to enter the bridge. It takes about 60 minutes to walk across the bridge depending on your speed. The bridge is a great relaxer, you can walk along it,take pictures, and even put a lock on the bridge. (the locks aren't provided you must bring your own if you want to put one on the bridge)

Canal Street

Canal Street is a major street in Lower Manhattan, New York City running through East Broadway.This street goes through many neighborhoods such as Chinatown, SoHo, Little Italy and the northern boundaries of Tribeca. This street is amazing to walk down and you really get to see many new and remarkable things.
